| Q |
If RCC is so good, why isn’t every hardstanding made this way? |
|
| A. |
RCC is relatively new in the UK, with the first major installation completed in Spring 2002. However others have seen the benefits and RCC is now being specified for ports, bulk material storage, sewage sludge storage, composting slabs, lorry parking and access roads. |

| Q. |
Why does RCC cost so much less than PQC? |
| A. |
As RCC is produced at a lower moisture content that PQC, less cement is required to achieve the same strength. The method of construction is quick, so plant and labour costs are reduced. There is no reinforcement or formwork. |
